Public Rhetorical Analysis


The author discusses the increasing prices of products worldwide, particularly in the United States, and how this has led to a significant increase in product sales. This has made it difficult for individuals to balance their daily lives, as they need various resources to support their families, bills, necessities, and children’s education. The author believes that the rising prices are primarily due to the high demand for goods and inadequate supply, which has led to businesses not offering discounts as frequently as they did last year. 

I wrote this opinion piece. This is believable since it is based on actual experience. Because an op-ed is a media opinion piece that appears opposite the editorial page. This is a wonderful thing about how the media portrays our real-life predicament. The impact of rising product prices is currently the biggest issue. Many businesses, in my opinion, don’t offer goods discounts as frequently as they did last year, when the epidemic was at its peak, because of the high demand for products and the inadequate supply. Additionally, some people bring up war, a natural calamity, like a flood. To achieve equilibrium, prices this year are higher than they were last year, when brands were lowering prices to sell inventory. 

The public who are dealing with this difficult scenario is the piece’s intended audience. Considering this, a customer may be discouraged while looking at a product’s high price. Then the price hike will deter buyers from purchasing it. In a similar vein, if prices are reduced in such market circumstances, then customers’ purchases will rise sharply. Customers try to save money due to the high cost of the goods; otherwise, they will struggle to do so. Living in a society with significant economic costs is really difficult. Because we must travel every day and because we require only the most necessities, individuals will not be able to subsist if prices continue to rise. and that has taken place throughout the nations. People go without food and medicine, becoming ill. All younger children and newborns suffer from malnutrition. 

The author discusses the increasing economic issue globally, particularly in the United States, where citizens struggle to afford necessities due to rising product prices. Factors contributing to this decline include low demand, societal issues, and the misconception that expensive products are of superior quality. The author suggests using oral and written rhetorical techniques to address these issues, such as social media, television news, and newspaper language. They encourage everyone to discuss and find solutions to economic problems, thereby bringing them to public attention.

The author’s perspective on the subject of their essay is that various factors can affect how expensive items are in society.  Consumers see high prices unfavorably for a number of reasons, particularly if they think they are unjust or unreasonable. High costs can also prevent consumers from accessing basic items. And when there is little to no substitute for a product, corporations may have more influence over pricing, which can result in monopolistic behavior. High prices can also be a sign of a lack of market competition.
